RJ WebBuilder 2.0 Newsletter

Dear Webmasters:

I hope you had a nice Passover. As we begin the counting of the omer, let us not forget our official countdown to the end of RJ WebBuilder 1.0. Please get your 2.0 sites ready to go live prior to June 30.

We are currently working on freeing up space on the server. If you receive this newsletter and will not be using our 2.0 services, and therefore won't need your development site anymore, please let me know so we can take it down.

Please help me congratulate those congregations who have gone live recently.

Quick Tips

Setting Up Pagebreaks Within an Article
Splitting up long articles into sections is a helpful way of presenting content.

Creating a Link to an Internal Page
Finding the internal URL can easily be done through the article or module, especially for a PDF.

Designing or Updating Your Site
Information on a synagogue website should be found quickly and with little effort.

Did You Know?

How to Handle Site Updates?
Want to update a component or extension, watch this warning first.

Does the recent 'Heartbleed' security breach post any risks for our RJ WebBuilder sites? Is there anything we need to do?
No, the recent news about 'Heartbleed' was referring to a particular brand of encryption software (called Open SSL) which is not used by either the Joomla core system nor any of the components or extensions used on RJ WebBuilder sites. If you are using any third-party software for payment processing, you can check with them if they were using Open SSL technology but it is likely you would have already been alerted if there were actions required on your part.

Staying in Touch

We are challenged in reaching current webmasters due to high turnover and changes in email addresses. If you are receiving this email, you are the person who was reported to the URJ to be handling your congregation's website. If there are additional people who need to be on this list or if you need to get off this list, please send corrected information to datamgmt@urj.org
