The footer is one area people overlook when designing a site. However, it just might be the last thing people see before leaving your site, your last chance to grab their interest and guide them through your site.
So what should your footer include? Let's break it down:
- Navigation Links
The most important thing to have in your footer is, arguably, quick links to key pages.
While you don't have to include your whole menu, it's a good idea to link to your most popular or most important pages, such as Shabbat service times, information about your congregation, blog posts, etc.
- Call to Action (CTA)
Since this is probably your last chance to get your audience's attention, you'll definitely want to include some sort of call to action. Place it prominently and use action-driven language!
Having these links in your footer will help users and search engines easily access the information they are looking for.
- Contact Details & Social Media
Your footer is a great place to highlight key contact information. Your synagogue's address, phone number, email address, and social media links should definitely be included.
These will help boost your credibility and make it easy for users to get in touch.
Your footer doesn't need to be fancy, but it does need to check a few boxes to best serve you and your users. It's a small but mighty part of your site that shouldn't be an afterthought.
