Slow Updates with DPCalendar?

It can take up to two hours for a change to one of our Google Calendars to be reflected as an update to the DPCalendar on our website. Is this typical?
Thanks,
Al

Hi Al,

In the DP Google plugin you can try turning of the cache under the advanced settings. The other option is to look for a caching option in the component itself. I can't recall exactly but I think turning off the caching in one of these 2 places will resolve the issue.

Al,
Sorry but I have not seen your post until now. If I remember correctly, turning off a component's cache really does not help since the system maintains the primary cache. Even if your component's cache has been refreshed, the system does not readily detect that condition until someone requests that particular info. We had this discussion a few years ago.

Yes, I remember the same problem occurring with GCalendar, and I recall fooling with the cache and that solved the problem. I only recently realized that we are now having a similar problem with DPCalendar. I've tried turning off the cache in the Google plugin, as well as the DPCalendar component, but there seems to be little change in the lag time between Google Calendar entries and appearance of those items on the DPCalendar web page. Moreover, users are complaining to me that it takes a long time for the DPCalendar page to load, and that is indeed the case. I'm averaging 15-20 seconds to load a calendar page.
