Dear Webmasters:

Happy New Year!

I'm excited to share that more than 90 sites have signed up for the new RJ Web Builder 3.0 platform! Still trying to decide on a theme? The deadline to select a theme is April 28 and support for the Joomla sites will end in August 2018. Start your migration now by signing up.

There are lots of new resources on the help site to get you started. For a little more direction, make sure you check out the Getting Started Checklist.

Mark your calendars. The first live webinar training session will be January 22, 2018 from 12-1 EST. Getting Acquainted with WordPress will break down the dashboard and go over some of the basic functions like how to import calendars, edit the home page, and add a widget. URJ's developer, Jared Shih, will be leading this webinar, and I will also be available to answer any questions you may have. Register in advance for this webinar. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. If you can’t make it, the recording will be posted on the help site.

Please help me congratulate those congregations who have gone live on RJ Web Builder 3.0:

Temple Emanu-El, San Diego, CA
Congregation Am Echod, Grayslake, IL
Temple Shalom, Winnipeg, MB
Emanuel Jacob Congregation, Mansfield, OH
Beth Israel Congregation, Florence, SC
Temple Beth Tikvah, Houston, TX
Congregation Beth Israel, Walla Walla, WA

Kol Hakavod to the new sites!

Quick Tips

Difference Between Pages and Posts
WordPress beginners often find the difference between pages and posts confusing. While the setup looks the same, they are different content types. When to use pages? When to use posts? Learn the best practices.

Change the Layout of a Page
Add a sidebar. Remove a sidebar. It’s really simple to change the page layout.

Change Site Logo
New to WordPress and trying to add your logo? Veteran user and want to update your logo? It can be done in the Customize panel in the dashboard.

Staying in Touch

We are challenged in reaching current webmasters due to high turnover and changes in email addresses. If you are receiving this email, you are the person who was reported to the URJ to be handling your congregation's website. If there are additional people who need to be on this list or if you need to get off this list, please send corrected information to datamgmt@urj.org
